Day 1: Arrival Cairo
Arrive to Cairo International Airport. Upon arrival you will be greeted by Santa Maria Tours representative and then transferred to your Hotel for check in, free time to relax with overnight stay in Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo / Aswan
We will start the day by paying our respects to the Sphinx, the great lion with its craved body of a lion and the headdress of the Pharaohs. We then visit the 3 pyramids of the Giza Plateau of Kings Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos. After you will be escorted to the Cairo Railway Station to board the first class sitting train to Aswan. (Breakfast)
Day 3: Aswan
Upon arrival you will be escorted to your Nile Cruise Ship where you will spend the next 3 nights / 4 days. Embarkation and check in before lunch. Lunch on board. Visit the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae dedicated to the goddess Isis. Overnight in Aswan. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4: Aswan / Kom Ombo / Edfu
After breakfast, sail on the Nile by Felucca around Kitchener’s Island. Sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the Temple shared by the two Gods Sobek and Haroeris. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile. Sail to Edfu and Overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5: Edfu/ Esna/ Luxor
Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, said to be the best preserved temple on the Nile. Sail to Esna, cross the lock. Sail to Luxor and Overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 6: Luxor
Disembarkation after breakfast. Cross to the West Bank. Visit the Necropolis of Thebes, Valley of the Kings, the funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari and Colossi of Memnon. Check-in our hotel in Luxor and overnight. (Breakfast)
Day 7: Luxor
We will visit the great Temples which provide an unforgettable introduction to ancient Egypt. Luxor Temple & Karnak Temple. Overnight in Luxor. (Breakfast)
Day 8: Luxor/ Dendara/ Abydos/ Assuit
Check-out from our hotel after breakfast, towards Dendara visit beautiful Temple of Hathor. Proceed towards Abydos. Visit the amazing temples of Ramses II, before moving to Assuit. Arrive Assuit check-in our hotel and overnight. (Breakfast)
Day 9: Assiut/ Al-Minya
After breakfast, check-out from our hotel towards Al-Minya. Arrive al-Minya check-in our hotel. 58 km south of the city of al-Minya we cross the east bank of the Nile to Tel-Amarna, a city built by Akhenaten and Nefertiti during the New Kingdom. We visit some noble’s tombs with wall reliefs unequalled anywhere else in Egypt. The pictures appear alive and even as though they are moving. We also visit the Northern Palace, one of the markers of the city limits (a huge stone with hieroglyphics), the Southern Palace and the Tomb built for Akhenaten. After cross again the Nile to the West bank, proceed to Tuna el-Gebel which was the necropolis of Khmunu. On our return journey to al-Minya, visit El Ashmunein in Pharaonic times in the ancient Egyptian language means ‘town of eight’ including a lovely new open-air museum . Back to Hotel. Overnight in al-Menya. (Breakfast)
Day 10: Al-Minya/ Fayoum Oasis
After breakfast, check-out from our hotel towards the small village of Bani Hassan is overlooked by limestone cliffs which contain39 tombs of the best private tombs in Egypt dating from the era of the Middle Kingdom. It is near Beni Hasan that we find another interesting site, the "Speos Artemidos," a rock cut temple for Pakhet, an aspect of the lioness goddess Sekhmet. It is here that the female pharaoh, Hatshepsut, made her declaration denouncing the Hyksos and telling of her mission to resuscitate the temples of Egypt. Proceed to Fayoum Oasis. Arrive Fayoum check-in our hotel and Overnight. (Breakfast)
Day 11: Fayoum Oasis/ Cairo
Today we will explore Fayoum Oasis visit Lake Qarun that covers an area of 200 Km2 and is ideal for fishing, duck shooting and rowing, also we will see Water-wheels: there are about 200 of them, which are used to draw underground water and irrigate agriculture lands. Proceed to Karanis there are many ruined Temples at Karanis, the ancient city. After we will explore the collapsed Pyramid of Mydoum, the pyramid of Mydoum has a special magic we believe that it was built by King Snefru in the 4th Dynasty. Proceed to Cairo. Arrive Cairo, check-in our hotel. Overnight in Cairo. (Breakfast)
Day 12: Cairo
Today we start our full day tour visiting the Egyptian Museum of antiquities, the largest precious collection of Egyptian art around the world, which Includes the treasures of the Boy King Tutankhamun enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years ago before it was discovered in the 1920s. End of the day visit the Bazaar of Khan El Khalili, Overnight in Cairo. (Breakfast)
Day 13: Cairo/ Alexandria
Travel by private coach through the desert, arriving to Alexandria, Egypt’s major port and historically associated with Alexander the Great, Cleopatra and Napoleon. We will visit Fort Qaitbey a beautiful location, overlooking and with a great view of the Mediterranean Sea and of Alexandria as well. The fortress itself has the look of a storybook castle. After visit the Pompy’s Pillar that was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian. Originally from the temple of the Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the Soma and the Caesareum. Drive back to Cairo and overnight. (Breakfast)
Day 14: Departure Cairo
Check out, Santa Maria Tours representative will transfer you to Cairo airport for your final departure with memories that will stay alive forever.
