Day 1: Arrival Cairo
Santa Maria Tours representative meets you upon your arrival in Cairo airport and handle all your procedures through passport control, luggage area and customs formalities, and transferred to your hotel in Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo
Following a sumptuous buffet breakfast at the hotel, board the bus for a full day sightseeing. We will start the day by paying our respects to the Sphinx, the great lion sentinel of the Giza plateau with its craved body of a lion and the headdress of the Pharaohs. We then visit the 3 Pyramids of Kings Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos. Then back to our hotel. Overnight in Cairo. (Breakfast)
Day 3: Cairo / Fayoum
Today we will board our 4x4 jeep to explore the collapsed Pyramid of Meidum, the pyramid of Meidum has a special magic we believe that it was built by the 4th Dynasty King, Snefru. Then Visit the pyramid of Hawara, proceed to Fayoum Oasis visit Lake Qarun that covers an area of 200 Km2 and is ideal for fishing, duck shooting and rowing. Also we will see Water-wheels: there are about 200 of them, which are used to draw underground water and irrigate agriculture lands. Overnight in Fayoum. (Breakfast)
Day 4: Wadi El-Rayan / Wadi Hitan / Cairo
After breakfast we drive towards Wadi al-Rayan, a depression with two lakes. At Wadi Rayan we visit the waterfalls. Via Jebel al Mudawara, we arrive at Wadi al-Hitan. Also known as the Valley of the Whales. Since 2005 this unique area is placed on the UNESCO's World Heritage List. It is the most significant place in the world to show the evolution of whales. More than 400 identifiable whale and sea cow skeletons and other bones and plant fossils have been identified. Considered as an open museum, dates back to 45 million years and contain petrified primitive whales skeletons, shark teeth, shells and roots of Mangroves preserved in soft rocks. Afterwards, back to Cairo. Check-in our hotel and overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 5: Cairo
Today we will enjoy a guided tour of the famous Egyptian Museum. Here you will see ancient Egyptian artifacts like the Narmer platte, Ra-hotep and Nefert’s statues, Statues of Queen Hatshepsut, treasures of King Tutankhamen. There will be time also to explore the museum on your own. Our next stop will be at the oldest part of the city, known as Coptic Cairo, originally a Roman fortress town called ‘’Babylon”. Visit the Hanging Church, the Church of Abu Serga and Ben Ezra Synagogue. End of the day visit the Bazaar of Khan El Khalili, Overnight in Cairo. (Breakfast)
Day 6: Cairo / Alexandria
This morning we drive through the desert, arriving to Alexandria, Egypt’s major port and historically associated with Alexander the Great, Cleopatra and Napoleon. We will visit Fort Qaitbey a beautiful location, overlooking and with a great view of the Mediterranean Sea and of Alexandria as well. The fortress itself has the look of a storybook castle. After visit the Pompy’s Pillar that was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletain. Originally from the temple of the Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the Soma and the Caesareum. After visit the Catacombs of Kom el-Shuqafa the largest known Roman burial site in Egypt. Procced to the white marble Roman Amphitheatre the only one of its kind in Egypt. Drive back to Cairo and overnight. (Breakfast)
Day 7: Departure Cairo
Check out, Santa Maria Tours representative will transfer you to Cairo airport for your final departure with memories that will stay alive forever.
